#awesomeroommate

Pretty sure my roommate is one of the coolest ones, ever!

I have much blogging to catch up on, since I've started my adventures here in NYC. I will start with one from June, just after my birthday, because it was a very New York day.

Adele and I were given tickets to visit Ellis Island and Liberty Island, by her wonderful friend Jana. She was in town, but wasn't going to be able to make it. Adele gladly volunteered to go to Disneyland, I mean Ellis Island. For a genealogist, Ellis Island IS Disneyland!
First the boat takes you to see the Statue of Liberty. I've been once before, but it's still impressive every time I see it. Adele was patient, even though she was thinking "Okay, big green lady, now can we go to Disneyland?!"

I just like this one. That you can see her through anything. A non-traditional photo, compared to what everyone else takes.

The door handle to the gift shop, just like what lady liberty is holding.

We thought it was funny that there was a place to line up for Jersey.

A profound statement. I could add that each one starts with a single step, right?

This is the large hall that all the emigrants would come through. Now it is a great open hall, very bright. There is definitely a feeling of great importance that is hard to describe.

We did eat some wonderful chili cheese fries, but that's just not as historical. This was my report on my trip to see the statue. The End
